Betty Phillips Ebersole

Betty Lee Phillips Ebersole, 90, formerly of North Robinson and Sulphur Springs, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 29, 2014 in Terre Haute, Indiana.

She was born in Sulphur Springs to the late Erwin and Lottie (Parr) Wagner on June 2, 1924. Betty graduated from Sulphur Springs High School and Marion Business School. Many people will remember her as the friendly secretary at Colonel Crawford Jr. High School.

Betty married Paul Phillips in June 1944. They raised their family in North Robinson where she was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church as a Sunday school teacher and a choir member. She enjoyed being involved in many women’s clubs as well as reading.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Phillips in 1977. She later married Elmer Ebersole who preceded her in death in 1995. Also preceding her were brothers, John and Carl Wagner.

She is survived by her brother, Erwin “Bub” (Jean) Wagner and sister-in-law, Helen “Sis” Wagner. Betty is also survived by two children, Dawn (Jim) Maeder and Rory (Cindy) Phillips; five grandchildren, Mike (Michelle) Maeder, Tim (Laura) Maeder, Seth (Rachael) Phillips, Zach (Pauline) Phillips and Rachel Phillips; and three great grandchildren, Emily, William, and Alexis.

Betty’s family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2 from 4-7 p.m. at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus. Her funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Robinson with Rev. Dana Newhouse officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
