Elizabeth L. Peppard, 90, of Bucyrus, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Bucyrus Community Hospial.
Betty was born in Bucyrus on May 4, 1922 to the late Fred and Estella (Sorger) Widman and graduated from Bucyrus High School. She worked various jobs throughout the local area and was proud to have been a candy striper at the hospital in her earlier years. Betty led a simple life and preferred keeping to herself. She loved animals, especially her cats and found peace in watching the birds and squirrels from her window.
She is survived by her children, Terri Legge of Bucyrus and David (Yvette) Peppard of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Christina (John) Hall, Jennifer (Andy) Melick and Matthew Peppard; great grandchildren, Caitlyn Hall and Alex and Austin Peppard.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Donald Widman; a sister, Louise Markley and her son-in-law, James Legge.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 16 at Wise Funeral Service where her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Mark Dettmer, Certified Celebrant officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society serving Crawford County through the funeral home.
