Arlene M. Clayton

Arlene M. Clayton, 88, of Bucyrus died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Heartland of Bucyrus after failing health for two years.

She was born May 3, 1922 in Bucyrus to the late Arnold and Edna (Cover) Keplinger. Arlene graduated from Holmes-Liberty and married John Clayton, Jr. on December 14, 1941. He preceded her in death. Arlene worked as a secretary for a number of Bucyrus area companies, and retired from Ohio Locomotive Crane.

A lifelong resident of the Bucyrus area, Arlene was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards.

Arlene is survived by four children, John Clayton, III and Mike Clayton, both of Bucyrus, Mrs. Roger (Vicki) Blandzinski of Elida and Mrs. Larry (Sherri) Smith of Sarasota, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and her sister, Doris Kraft of Sulphur Springs.

In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene is preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Keplinger; Sister, Marcille May and grandson, Todd Mills.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Wise Funeral Service where the funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Don L. Ebert, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Contributions may be given to Epworth UMC or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home
