Anna Mae Dye

Anna Mae Dye, 71, of Bucyrus, died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Altercare of Bucyrus.

She was born March 12, 1942 in Red Ash, Va. to the late Fred and Mattie Virginia (Cordell) Shelton. Anna married Robert L. Dye, Sr. on March 6, 1965 and they were married 37 years until his death on November 2, 2002.

They came to Bucyrus in the early 1970s and, in addition to taking care of her family, Anna worked at Swan Rubber until 1998. She then worked at the County Home, Carlisle House and Altercare for a number of years.

Anna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was always on the lookout for garage sales as long as she could be home in time to watch Days of Our Lives and if there were an old western or scary movie, she would not leave the TV. Anna also enjoyed an occasional piece of pie or sweet treat as well as a cup of coffee.

Anna is survived by three children, Rhonda Lou Dye of Bucyrus, Robert Lee (Heidi Stallard) Dye, Jr. of Crestline and Julieanna (Timothy) Pace of Bucyrus; nine grandchildren, Justice Dye, Caleb Chapman, Mitchell Chapman, Elyse Dye, Mya Dye, Bryer Dye, Brandy Dye, Jesse Dye and Chris Dye and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Joe (Lovell) Shelton, George Shelton and Jeff (Tish) Shelton, all of Virginia and two sisters, Patsy Leveling and Mary Elizabeth Rose, both of Virginia.

She is preceded in death by a son, Fred Thomas Dye; grandson, Thomas Dye; one brother, Melvin Shelton and four sisters, Shirley Jean Dye, Doris Proffitt, Margaret Ann Shelton and Lois Shelton.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 23 at Wise Funeral Service where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday with Pastor Bernie France officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
