Anna J. Cuffman, 84, died peacefully Thursday morning, October 21, 2021 at her home under the care of her family and Avita Hospice.
She was born in Bucyrus on March 4, 1937 to the late George and Virginia (Greenich) Dauchenbaugh and attended Bucyrus Schools. Her first job was at the former Freddie’s Restaurant, but most will remember her as a great seamstress who did sewing for countless people in Bucyrus.
Her favorite and most important job was being a mother to her six children and each meant the world to her. She and Sandra loved to make dolls together. Anna and Debra were partners in crime and crazier than hell every time they got together. She appreciated Tom as her handyman. The love she poured into Kenny over the years came full circle as he took great care of her in recent years. Her love for Larry was steadfast and she was always a phone call away. Mark’s visits with food and relentless teasing were always welcome.
Don’t be fooled, anyone who knew her knows Anna was a spitfire who spoke her mind and loved to have fun. She will be missed by many and never forgotten.
Anna is survived by six children, Sandra (Ray) Naveja, Debra and husband Howard of Pennsylvania, Tom (Joy) Cuffman, Kenny Cuffman, Larry Cuffman, and Mark (Ruth “Cookie”) Cuffman; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one expected great-great grandchild; and her brother, Jack Dauchenbaugh.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by siblings, Richard Dauchenbaugh, Lois Johnston, Helen Stamper, Danny Dauchenbaugh, Duke Dauchenbaugh, Gene Dauchenbaugh, and David Dauchenbaugh.
Anna’s family held a private gathering and laid her to rest in Oakwood Cemetery.
Those who wish to remember her with a memorial donation can make gifts payable to Crawford County Council on Aging who assisted with her home care and give through Wise Funeral Service.
Memories and photos can be shared on Anna’s Tribute Wall.
