Anita J. Spiegel

Anita J. Spiegel, 84, died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Altercare of Bucyrus after years of failing health from a rare blood disease



She was born May 8, 1938 in Wyandot County to the late Harold and Bernice (Horn) Stalder. After graduating from Nevada High School in 1956, she raised her family in Bucyrus where she was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church, She will be remembered as a beloved church organist for various congregations including Holy Trinity Catholic Church and First Baptist Church.



Anita was an avid volunteer, being a scout leader and spending many years involved with PTO, Lions Club, and Red Hats. But she is best remembered by neighbors and friends for her gift of music. Her love of music was fostered by her dad and her music teacher. In addition to playing piano and organ, she did a lot of crafts, especially ceramics and cake decorating. At home, she enjoyed the company of her dog, Miggins, and cat, Cleo, and could not be interrupted if Jeopardy! was on.



Anita is survived by children, John (Gwen) Spiegel, Ken (Michelle) Spiegel, Suzanne Beers (Lee Williamson), and Kim (Brett) Mutchler; grandchildren, John Jr. (Jennifer), Jeremy (Heather), Josh (Mandie), and Lige Spiegel, Peyton, Kameron, and Daniel Spiegel, Bayley Beers, Samantha and Alex Mutchler; and five great grandchildren.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, John Stalder.



Services will take place on Wednesday, August 10 at Wise Funeral Service where Anita’s family will receive friends from 11 am - 12:55 pm. Funeral will begin at 1:00 pm with Vicar Tanyce Addison officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.



Memorial donations can be made payable to American Red Cross or Good Hope Lutheran Church and given through the funeral home. Memories and photos can be shared on Anita’s Tribute Wall.
