Angela Sue (Monk) Eidson, 46, of Chatfield, was called Home Wednesday, May 13, 2015 following her death at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, succumbing to injuries from an auto accident.
Angie was born December 6, 1968 in Bucyrus to Darrel and Meredith “Susie” (Cotsmire) Monk. She graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1987 where she played girls basketball and was a member of DECA.
Angie lived life to the fullest and always put the needs of others ahead of her own, except for one time earlier in life when she had a crush on a neighbor by the name of Ray Eidson. Ray being the gentleman he was, gained her father’s blessing before they were married on July 23, 1988.
Angie worked at Bucyrus Community Hospital where she served as the Admissions Supervisor, spent several years working at HomeCare Matters in Galion and most recently was privileged to work at Capabilities, an organization that assisted putting folks back into the work force. She was helping others and that’s what she lived for.
Angie loved spending time with family. Growing up, there was always a get-together and more recently she loved camping at their “small piece of Heaven” out on Stetzer Road where they fished, did some boating and four wheeling, and always had a big bonfire. Angie also enjoyed creating jewelry and scrapbooking.
She had a strong love for God and it showed through her involvement at Scioto UMC where she served as a youth leader, volunteered on several church committees and was truly dedicated to anything the church was doing. She was an advocate for the NW Ohio Kidney Foundation and her family, with the support of others, held an annual “Hog Wild” hog roast benefit for 10 years. Angie was also part of a group that lobbied for and brought the Kidney Dialysis Center to Bucyrus as there was a local need by so many, including herself.
In addition to her parents and best friend Ray, Angie is survived by her daughter, Tia (Phillip) Rupe; her grandchildren who lit up her life, Anthony Eidson, Austin Fulton, Jaylon, Makiah and Shayde Rupe, all of the Bucyrus area; sister, Kimberly (Craig) Ferguson of Ontario; mother-in-law, Jean Eidson and numerous nieces and nephews including one nephew who was very close to her, Sean Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Doug Eidson.
Friends may call from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 at Wise Funeral Service. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Scioto UMC with Pastor Glory Geib officiating. Angie’s family will also welcome friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be held at Monnett Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home and made payable to Ray Eidson to assist with expenses or to the NW Ohio Kidney Foundation. To share a memory of Angie, please sign the Memorial Guestbook below.
