Albert Lee Stetzer

Albert L. Stetzer, 91, of Bucyrus died Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

He was born June 18, 1919 in Wood County, Ohio to the late Franz M. and Mary W. (McLaughlin) Stetzer. Albert was a 1938 graduate of Holmes Liberty High School and attended the Columbus Business College. On Nov. 11, 1939 he married Lucille A. Sponseller who survives.

Albert worked as the Crawford County Auditor for a few years and then worked at Bucyrus City Bank, now United Bank, until retiring in 1984. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church; served on the Crawford County Fair Board as the Treasurer for 58 years; was the last surviving charter member of the Bucyrus Kiwanis Club; a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Bucyrus Shrine.

In addition to his loving wife of 71 years, Albert is survived by three children, Tom Stetzer and wife Emily of Wellston, Ohio, Carolyn Bartlett and husband Douglas of St. Louis, Missouri and Lyle Stetzer, Sr. and wife Terri of Loveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tom (Susan) Stetzer, Scott (Suzanne) Bartlett, Todd (Carin) Bartlett, Kirsten (Wilson) Mask, Cindy Stetzer, Lyle Stetzer, Jr. and Eric Stetzer; 10 great grandchildren, Jack, Max, Natalie, Carson, Gabriella, Alexander, Gavin, Brice, Lorelei and James; one brother, Frank Stetzer of Columbus and one sister, Lois (Harold) Brewer of Sycamore.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, December 26 at Wise Funeral Service, with Masonic Services being held at 3:45 that afternoon. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Ellis officiating with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Projects Inc. or to Woodlawn UMC through the funeral home. Checks made payable to Projects Inc. will be used to fund the new livestock/multi-purpose building at the fairgrounds.
