William F. Beach

William Francis Beach, 66, of Hendersonville, Tennessee and a former area resident, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following an irreversible brain injury which occurred from a fall.



He was born December 3, 1948 in Bucyrus to the late Francis L. and Helen N. (Young) Beach. Bill was a 1966 graduate of Wynford High School where he excelled in basketball, track and football. Bill also sang in the school chorus and played trumpet in the band. Bill attended the University of Toledo where he received an associate’s degree before completing his bachelors degree in business from Ohio Northern University where he was proud to have been a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Shortly after graduating, Bill married Kathy Miller and began raising a family. He worked as a store manager for Sherwin Williams in both Bucyrus and Mansfield for a number of years and devoted the rest of his free time to regularly attending anything his children were involved in. Bill next owned a House Doctor franchise and took pride in helping others for close to 15 years with general home repairs and maintenance. In 1999 he married Deborah Jo Appleby and the two decided to complete trucking school together. Things worked out well for Bill. He received his CDL and drove semi-truck regionally for P.A.M. while living in both Lakewood and Hendersonville. He retired in 2014 only to begin working several part time jobs to keep him busy. He enjoyed being a Fan Host for the Nashville Sound; drove for both Uber and Lyft and he absolutely loved performing street magic in Nashville.



Bill was raised in the Methodist church and currently attended Hendersonville First UMC where he loved listening to the praise band. He enjoyed taking care of himself by running and participated in many 5k road races. He loved following Cleveland sports teams and was a member of the Middle Tennessee Browns Backers Club. Bill liked to play his guitar, ukulele and he loved singing karaoke, especially songs that stirred the crowd. His greatest passion though was performing illusions or magic. He studied and learned from some of the best over the years and was a member of the Galion, Cleveland and Nashville Magic Clubs. Bill was proud to have received an award from the Cleveland club for his close up illusions at one of their friends and family events. He most recently performed street magic on Lower Broadway and more fulfilling than receiving tips was watching their faces light up in amazement as he practiced the illusions.



He is survived by his wife and best friend, Deborah Jo Beach; three daughters, Melanie (Brett) Griffin, Beth (Christopher) Bailey and Molly Beach; one stepdaughter, Kristi Miller; 13 grandchildren, Ella, Rowan and Nora Griffin, Charlotte, Lucy and Tess Bailey, Paige Beach, Andre, Kasey and Nic Serrano and Harli, Henasi and Harper Miller. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Angela Serrano.



Bill will be honored on Sunday, November 1 at Wise Funeral Service in Bucyrus where a gathering of friends and family will be held from 1-3 pm and his memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm with Certified Celebrant Mark Dettmer and Chip Koltash officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Brokensword Cemetery.
