Marilyn Lambert

Marilyn P. Lambert, 85, of Bucyrus died Monday, June 2, 2014 at Bucyrus Community Hospital.

She was born December 5, 1928, in Shelby, Ohio to the late Leland and Kathryn (Farrell) Pope and grew up in Tiro, Ohio. A graduate of Tiro High School, Marilyn moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to attend cosmetology school. While in Ft. Wayne, she met Frank Robert Lambert and they married October 24, 1948.  They spent 45 years together before he preceded her in death June 7, 1994.

Marilyn worked as a hairdresser for over 50 years and greatly enjoyed styling hair for “her ladies” at Michelle’s Salon.  Michelle Hoover and her mother, Carol Winkelfoos, held a special place in Marilyn’s heart due to their care and compassion, especially in her later years.

Another important part of Marilyn’s life included being an active member of American Legion Post 181 Auxiliary. She served many years as an officer, assisted in organizing gifts for veterans, sold poppies to benefit veterans, and shared many good times with Legion friends.

In addition, Marilyn played Bridge in a card club and was a member of Red Hatters.

Family was very important to Marilyn. She is survived by three children, Bobbi Stanberry of Tomball, Texas, Randy (Teresa) Lambert of Findlay, Ohio, and Doug (Shari) Lambert of Bucyrus; six grandchildren, Jenny (Eric) Peter of Houston, Texas, Sarah Hubble Johnson of Tomball, Scott Lambert of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kate (Jon) Hayfield of Findlay, Brandi (Lance) Combs of Shelby, and Beau (Samantha) Lambert of Bucyrus; eight great-grandchildren, Ryan, Rebecca, Carter, Karley, Avery, Graydin, Morgan, and Otto; and siblings, Donald (Mary) Pope and Marlene (Gene) Armbruster, both of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.

The Lambert family will receive friends on Thursday, June 5, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. at Wise Funeral Home in Bucyrus. Her funeral will be held at Wise Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don L. Neumann officiating.
